Preparing to purchase a new Ranger 619 FS. This will be my retirement boat so it’s going to have most of the bells and whistles.
Here’s what I am adding:
Yamaha 225 Offshore
2 Humminbird Helix 12 megas
Minn kota Ulterra 36 volt
Minn kota 4 bank precision charger
Factory bimini top
Factory cover
Tandem axle
Extended rear deck

Those who have bought a 600 series FS (or similar boat), is there anything you wished you had added? Is there anything you did add but later regretted? Don't think I need a kicker at this point as I have gotten by using my trolling motor for my bottom bouncing so far.

Next thing, on average how much should I expect the dealer to discount on the boat? Not expecting an exact figure but a ball park number.

I searched on line and found promotions from Ranger, Yamaha, Humminbird, and Minn kota. I am not going to mention them to the dealer until after we settled on the price. Want to see if they will use the Ranger and Yamaha promo to bring the price down. Would rather settle on a price then use the promo’s to reduce the cost.
This is your last boat, I would recommend going to a 620. The 620 allows 4 cockpit seats with the extended rear deck, I don't believe the 619 does. You also get the digital switching pkg.

Not sure if your Helix 12's are surface or gimbal mount. But i'm not sure if the 12's will surface mount.

The Yamaha is a great engine but I'd consider the Vmax.

My wife and I will be the sole occupants and the places we go to fish make the 619 the ideal choice for us. We currently have a 19' 6" bass boat which has suited us just fine as far as length goes. Plus our garage just won't take a 620. The 619 is going to be a tight fit as it is. It's a little about the money too but not completely. We may eliminate the rear deck extension in favor of the elevated seat they offer.
Funny you mention the VMax. I have the 200 hp version on my bass boat and love it. Would put it on the 619 in a flash but as you probably know, you can't get the 225 SHO in a 25" shaft. The Offshore is a somewhat quieter SHO underneath anyway.
As far as graphs. This was recommended to me by someone on this website and my dealer.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but the auto bilge for a second bilge would be on my list next time. Otherwise you can fill your boat and rod locker up and notice when its coming over the floor that you didn't close the plug. Yes I did this twice and the second time I was breaking the pier heads with some pretty significant waves. Boat does't handle the same full of water and I didn't like it much. Adding the auto this winter.
Ulterra over Terrova for me next time for sure. What was I thinking.....
Front rails are nice when the waves are big and I have to go up front and deploy the trolling motor. Gives you something to grab when trying not to get tossed out.
I have the carpet and didn't use it at first. Tried it once and now I don't go without it. Much nicer on your feet after a long day in the boat.
If you get the Ulterra, you won't need to go up front to deploy the trolling motor.

Congrats on your new boat! You do have some great advice above. I will tell you....Juls has one of the best reputations in the business. I considered getting my last boat without a kicker...I will tell you I will NEVER order a boat without one. Others have mentioned the safety aspect. Did you know some of the newer outboards won't start if the batteries get too low? Imagine trolling for hours or fishing at night with lights, radio, live wells, etc etc running....and then you go to start your motor and nothing. Imagine if your battery fails for some reason. Outboards are machines....and can fail. They do fail. Not often....but it can happen. I wouldn't even consider fishing Erie without having a backup if something goes wrong. You can always Pull start the 9.9 and make it home. Yes. 9.9. Thats what you should probably go with on your boat. Have you ever ran glass before? They are heavier. Yes you can pull it around all day with the bow mount....but you have never trolled walleye (bouncers or cranks) until you have done so with the bow mount/kicker combo. This allows you to have AMAZING boat control! Set the bow mount on 3-5 (depending on conditions and desired speed) and then dial up the RPM's on the kicker to get to the EXACT speed you want....every time. This is deadly when paired with a TROLL MASTER or ITROLL. These digital throttle devices allow you to tune in your program to a gnats Hiney! Use the bow mount to steer the boat instead of constantly turning the tiller handle. You won't go wrong by adding a kicker. It will pay for itself in re-sale value....and I think you will find that you love it. A walleye boat without a kicker.....is well.....a bass boat. Hope you enjoy your new boat. Wont be long now.

All very good points. Have decided that at some point I will add a kicker. If I go to a big lake then that is for certain. Thanks!
