Default power trim on kickers

Do you have to "secure" your kicker in rougher water when it's trimmed up or does the trim motor/system itself keep them in place?

My T8 had a "stop" pin that slides in when trimmed up to prevent it from lowering. I use it when trailering and cruising the lake when I start out the day. Don't usually put the pin back in until the end of the day.

I just use the hydraulic to hold it up while running - no issues after 6 seasons with it ever coming back down while running

Thanks!! Any thoughts on props? 3 blade or 4 blade? Do I want a bigger prop blade or smaller for the kicker? Are there advantages to both? I would want to slow way down some times and probably get up in the 2.5-3mph's once in awhile.

x5 on T8. Only issue I ever had is when I forgot to bring it up. Then the back of the boat becomes really wet
